     Remember the Titans was a film that achieved modest success at the box office, and this mainly due to positive word of mouth. The story follows a high school football team which is undergoing forced integration. The movie is filled with some very powerful moments and I definitely recommended to any football fan, or even someone who is interested in the civil rights situations of the 60s and 70s. Amazingly enough, this film was produced by Jerry Bruckenheimer, which just goes to show that he's not always behind really crappy films.

      Possibly inspired by this wonderful film, Trevor Rabin delivers a score that far outshines anything I've heard from him yet. While the score never loses that typical Media Ventures sound, the orchestra seems more natural with less digital tweaking than normally occurs with Rabin's scores. The music expertly brings out the emotional feel of the film and the cues that accompany the football action are quite appropriate and don't rely on the tried-and-true method of head-banging music that most Media Ventures composers are known for. Thankfully, Rabin rounds out the music with a nice collection of themes that work quite well within the score.

     This was a delightful listen from Trevor Rabin and it's highly recommended for fans of the film, and especially for those of you who have generally liked Media Ventures scores. Unfortunately, the only widespread release was the song album that only has a small suite of Rabin's score. The suite is actually quite nice and covers some of the best material, but the promotional release is definitely recommended. ****
